Explore the Garden Route from the Tuscany

Since Wilderness is situated so centrally in the Garden Route and Little Karoo, it is an ideal starting point for exploring their highlights: Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay, Knysna, Plettenberg bay and Tsitsikamma National Park. These are all within easy reach as a daytrip.

Between august and december the whales can be viewed clearly from the balconies and the lawn of the Tuscany.

Knysna is only 40 km from Wilderness and is ideal to visit by taking the famous Outeniqua Choo-Choo. This steamtrain goes from George to Knysna, via Victoria Bay and Wilderness.

The lakes, rivers and lagoon of the Wilderness National Park are a joy to bird-lovers.

70 % of all the water birds of Southern Africa can be spotted in the wetlands of Wilderness.

The Malachite Kingfisher, the Wood stork, the Sacred ibis, the spoonbill en de pelican are frequent guests of the Wilderness National Park.
